The New York City Department of Consumer Affairs Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) is excited to announce the Financial Empowerment Hackathon!!

Since our first Financial Empowerment Center opened in 2008, we have helped tens of thousands of New Yorkers reduce their debt by millions of dollars and take control of their finances. Centers offer free, one-on-one financial counseling across the five boroughs. To strengthen our work in financial education, we're calling on developers and designers to help us create an app that will empower New Yorkers to achieve their financial goals. So join us on our two-day event to code and compete for cool prizes and a chance to help New Yorkers move forward financially.
