Control Track

Security, Privacy, Anonymity

A Privacy by Design Focused Track

Summary

What information are you sharing with the web when you access your email? When you read a news article? How secure can you expect your discussions regarding the news article to be?

The Control Track will focus on designing and implementing code and APIs in order to increase end-user security and to make Internet usage more private by design. From encrypting your mobile phone by default to accessing anonymous websites, the Control Track takes every-day Internet experiences and turns them into something more reliable and less privacy-endangering. The leader for this track is Jacob Appelbaum.

Goals

  • Increase the inherent data security of day-to-day Internet applications.
  • Tweak the workflow of Internet applications to guarantee stronger privacy by design.
