BandsNearby is a Spotify app that helps you discover amazing, unknown bands that are playing at the intimate NY venues you know and love. You can easily build a playlist of music based on dates and venues. For example, the bands playing in the Lower East Side next Friday and Saturday. Then spend the week getting to know your favorite songs and which shows are worth checking out.
You love your local music venues like Living Room, Rockwood, and Arlene's Grocery. But should you plan to see next Friday's show at Cake Shop? Or Pianos?

You're sitting on your flight and it's not taking off. Tornados or some shit. You're taxiing around for hours. The people are getting annoying. You're getting hungry. There's only one logical way to cope with all that frustration.
Who Do We Eat Next is the exciting new game that lets you vote on which obnoxious person on your flight you get to eat next.
View the other passengers in your grounded flight and text the seat of the annoying person. Maybe they stuffed the overhead compartment or are talking loudly on their cell. The winner gets eaten.
It's like survivor, but with nom noms.

Check in Take out is a Foursquare connected app that lets you check in as usual, order directly off the menu, pay with venmo and get an alert when your order is ready.
You know what doesn't suck? A kickass cashless in-person ordering process.
Steps for demo:
- Go to Check in Take Out and auth your foursquare account
- Use your phone and check in to a restaurant (it must have a menu with items that have prices). You can search for "Loving Hut" in NYC.
- You'll see the connected app appear, click it and you'll get a web app with all the menu items of that restaurant.
- Select whatever you want and checkout. confirm.
- At this point you'll be prompted to log in to venmo. Probably not a great idea unless you want to send your money to us. (Merchants aren't set up yet) You can skip this step.
- The merchant (Loving Hut, in this case) would get an SMS alert that there's a new order and link to an "order management" page. This allows the merchant to click when an order is ready.
- When the order is marked as ready for pick up, the customer gets an SMS (Twilio) or an email (Sendgrid).
Demand Sense enables brands to get near-realtime feedback from vendors about anything - from sales trends to buyer sentiment - by having real people call the vendors and ask simple questions.
Enter a question and multiple-choice answers for your vendors (ie "Are you planning to rebuy inventory of the Alexander Wang Double Knit Dress in the next 4 weeks?")
Then, via Mechanical Turk, thousands of people call each of the vendors on your behalf, ask to speak to a merchandising manager and ask your question. Results come in real time to a dashboard complete with stats and a graph. Turnkey insights.
Demand Sense enhances how vendors and brands communicate key information, and get it in a timely manor so they can make critical decisions.
When a client gets their paycheck, that’s the best time to remind them to set aside some money for their financial goal.
Pay yourself first lets a counselor quickly set up a financial goal with their client and set when the client expects their paycheck and how frequently.
On payday, the client gets a an interactive text message reminding them to set aside money (10% of the paycheck) for the goal they set up.
The client can then reply to the text with how much they were able to contribute that period. They'll get another response with a snapshot of how they've been doing.
Counselors can be part of this as well. They can review an admin page that shows all the clients they've set up, their goals and how consistent they've been at making contributions. In one click, a counselor can send a text reminder to all the clients who, say, are making contributions on fewer than 50% of their paychecks, to proactively ask if they'd like to schedule an appointment.
This is a PHP application built using jquerymobile and Twillio for texting. Most clients have access to cell phones with basic text messaging – so we’re using that as the primary means of communication. But they’re also very busy, so on the go, they can get a quick reminder away from the computer.
